My journey in finance started with a passion for making money make sense. I received my Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Hawaii then decided to pursue a career in financial advising. I earned my Series 7 & 66 securities registrations and Life & Health insurance licenses and began my career at VALIC Financial Advisors, Inc.
After several years of experience there, an opportunity arose to join the Hawaii Financial Advisors, Inc. family. I seized the opportunity and never looked back. It was the best decision I could have made for me and my clients. As I settled into this new chapter, I felt a calling to further enhance my skills and broaden my experience. This led me to pursue becoming a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®), aiming to delve deeper into areas like estate planning, taxes, retirement, insurance, and investment planning, while committing myself to higher standards of ethics.
Five rules I live by:
- When tackling a goal, think like an elephant-eater—take it one bite at a time, unless you've got an appetite the size of Mount Everest!
- Life's a bit like a road trip; without goals, you're just cruising around aimlessly, like a lost tourist in a foreign country.
- Every now and then, it's wise to zoom out and take in the whole canvas, not just the tiny details. Otherwise, you might end up with a finger painting when you were aiming for a masterpiece!
- Work hard, but remember to savor the moments along the way—that's the secret sauce for a fulfilling life. Pause, appreciate the victories, and enjoy the journey as much as the destination. And cherish time with loved ones—they're the true treasures of life. After all, you can't take your money to the afterlife, but you can take your memories!
- Life's greatest rewards are like finding buried treasure—you've gotta dig deep and put in the effort. If it were as easy as finding loose change under the couch cushions, we'd all be millionaires!
